Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September, 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actor. She is best known for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well on ABC's Lost television show. After her parents divorced, they moved together with their mother into Los Angeles. The actress landed her first part as Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. After earning an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance of Murder on the streets of Greenwich of 15 year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace went on to be awarded. In 2004, Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost on which she was a main cast member for the first two seasons. She was also awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace decided to concentrate on film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She has appeared on Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 as well as in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) are her re-casts of these role. Grace reprised the role of Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. In 2013 she appears in the sixth episode of Californication. The character she plays is Faith as the muse and fan of the celebrities. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She's a Gyllenhaal, the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit older that Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career in the teen years with minor roles in several of her father's films and appeared alongside her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Later, she was on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico as well as Sherrybaby (a dramatic) have earned her nominations to the Golden Globe Awards. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). She was recognized for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart.
